Right Now- Jamie Smith

At this very moment, somewhere in the universe a star is being born. Somewhere else another star is falling and somewhere else two asteroids are colliding. Somewhere in the universe living beings are going about their daily lives, not thinking about the stars being born or falling or the asteroids colliding. But somewhere in the universe these living beings are thinking about the stars and the planets and the asteroids. So many things, so many thoughts, and so many lives are happening in so many places in the universe that comprehending them all is impossible. Even trying to just makes you realize how small and insignificant you are in the grand scheme of things. It doesn’t matter, though. We humans are too focused on our own tiny, inconsequential lives to realize how tiny and inconsequential they really are. That’s why it doesn’t matter. We don’t care enough to make it matter. But that doesn’t change the fact that somewhere in the universe a star is being born, and somewhere else a star is falling.
