Assignment 24 - Jack Phillips

Well, we all know I made some big mistakes this year... One of them bigger than all the rest, that will probably follow me around for the next few years, but as the saying goes, I made my bed, now I have to lie in it. I could complain about how it was unfair that I was singled out despite the fact I had drank less than half of what a lot of people there had drank, but it doesn't change the fact that I made the mistake. Sure there were a lot of people that had done worse stuff than I had, but what I did was still wrong, and I disappointed a lot of people that expected better of me, and I have had to, and will continue to have to deal with it. At least it isn't the end of the world.
Changing topics to next year, I am really excited for it. Especially for my mentoring project. Most people are just doing something that is easy or something that they have to do, but I am legitimately excited about researching with Tim Knauer, who is the director of the Observatory at UK and a professor of astro-physics. I honestly can't wait to start my project, even though I have no idea what I will be researching, whether it is creating software to predict the appearance of supernovae or studying the birth of stars in distant nebulae, it will be a lot of fun.
