Assignment 6: Corey McMullin

Prompt 1- What is the significance of your name? What is its meaning? Why did your parents decide on what to name you?
Prompt 2- What is your favorite movie and why?
Prompt 3- If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
My name is Corey Logan McMullin. Corey has a variety of meanings in various European languages. To the Gaelic I am a ravine, to the English I am a hollow, but the meaning I have always known is the Irish, “of the hollow.” Logan is a Scottish name. It was derived from some little place in Scotland. It’s like how Rory’s sidekick in Gilmore Girls was named London. My last name is nowhere near as common as my first two. It is a Scottish name meaning “bald” which seems to fit with my family’s history of male pattern baldness. The McMullin clan is not that large because the Buchanan (like Daisy) clan views us as a sub-clan to them due to our similar roots. My parents didn’t really care what my names meant. My mom chose Corey because she discovered it while reading a book in her youth. My father chose Logan because, like me, he is a huge nerd and chose to name me after his second favorite superhero, Wolverine. He would have chosen his favorite, but he refused to name me Bruce.
