Assignment 22 Corey McMullin
If I could be any fictional character, I would want to be Steve the Pirate from the 2004 film, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. Steve the Pirate is among the most passionate characters ever. He spends each day dressed up as a pirate, talking like a pirate, and acting like a pirate. He gets to live his life how he sees fit and that just so happens to be as a pirate, living out childhood fantasies. Until *SPOILER ALERT* a good friend tells him that he is not actually a pirate, he is happy. Then, at the end of the theatrical release (DVD has an alternate ending) Steve is reunited with his friends, and made rich, sharing Peter’s “booty.” No matter what Steve the Pirate was doing, he had fun doing it. He was an all around happy guy that leapt onto an opportunity to help save the gym, even when that idea was as crazy as playing dodgeball.
