Assignment 23 - Sam Vandiver

My taste in music varies from death metal to Adele, and sometimes I have no clue what I want to listen to. This playlist gives a little bit of everything and helps me decide what I'm in the mood to hear:

Jagged - Old 97's: Self-described as "loud folk" this band likes to put really upbeat music to often sad lyrics in a way that can make you smile or cry. This song in particular really speaks to me and always manages to cheer me up.

Lose to Night- Insomnium: Finnish melodic death metal is probably not most people's cup of tea, but this is my go-to song whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed. There's something about the mixture of harsh and clean vocals (including the metal growl), the rapid drums and the dramatic guitar that just clicks and calms me down.

Drake- Energy/Kendrick Lamar-King Kunta: Both are recently released rap songs that I've been listening to a lot. Both are a little chorus-heavy, but the beat on King Kunta is unique and both songs have nice flow and are fun to listen to.

Someone Like You- Adele: Even though she doesn't fit with the rest of the playlist at all, I really like Adele and her voice. This song shows off her incredible vocal talents and is a nice emotional release.

Take Me Home Tonight- Eddie Money: A little classic rock never hurt anyone. This song is great to sing along to and really fun to let loose and belt it out.
