On this date: Vincent Pisacano

October 3rd, 1995. This is the date when OJ Simpson was convicted not guilty of the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman in Los Angeles, California. This trial has been known to be the most publicized criminal trial in the history of America. OJ Simpson was a big NFL star and an actor, a pretty well liked and well known guy. So obviously, when this type of person is accused of two counts of murder, it's going to draw some media attention. But thank God for the American court system, where everyone is apparently equal under the law. Because of his wealth, Simson was able to hire the best lawyers money can buy. Pretty much everyone knew, or at least now knows, that he was not innocent. What ticks me off is the fact that race was a pretty big talking point in this trial. Why? He could have been black or white. Any race. It doesn't change the fact that he killed two people. This day in history showed us that the apparently impeccable American legal system is deeply flawed, that media attention, race, publicity, and especially money, all of which should never be factors in court, led to the unjust court decision. Don't worry, OJ got sued by the victims families for like 40 mil or something.
