A World In Pictures

Columbine, an area in Jefferson County, of Colorado, became famous on the day April 20, 1999.

Two seniors going to Columbine High School, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, stormed into the high school and started to fire weapons and set of explosives. Together they killed a total of 12 students and one teacher, injured 24 people, all before committing suicide. It was an extremely tragic day for not only Columbine, but the whole nation.

This picture is a picture of the two seniors that performed the massacre. It shows them walking down the hallways of the school. At this time firefighters were responding to a fire bomb that the seniors placed as a diversion away from the shooting.

This tragic day sparked a large debate on the topics of school security, gun control laws, violent movies and video games, the use of anti-depressants, and more.
