I do not believe that there is an absolute good and evil. We as humans naturally have a tendency to judge people because of their actions, and often to
simplify this we put them under very broad generalizations like "good" or "evil". We have to be reminded though that when were making these generalizations, people are not born good or evil. Often it is an outside source, whether that be family, ideas, or circumstances, that cause people to perform
"good" or "evil" actions. To better describe this concept, imagine
that every new baby, every new person, starts out as a blank slate. A blank
slate that can be molded into any character or personality. However they themselves have
very limited control in writing their own story, especially early on, and we
find that the pen is often placed almost entirely in the hands of the people
around them.
A
perfect example of this can actually be found in Anakin Skywalker, or better
known as Darth Vader, in the Star Wars Trilogy. When we first meet Anakin, he
is the definition of good. A innocent little slave boy who loves his mother, and
works to support her, all the while trying to satisfy a deep curiosity for the
world and the outside universe. You never would have guessed that he would grow
up to be the infamous and murderous Darth Vader. He was not born evil, he was
anything but that as a child. However, after losing his mother and his wife
whom he loved very much, the love he had harbored for them instead turns to
rage. Rage that there is nothing he could've done to save them. A thick rage
that blinds him and his better judgment and turns him into a monster capable of
destroying entire planets. People aren't born with a specific affinity for good
or evil. They must first travel down the path of life, and whatever happens to
them on that path affects their choices, and decides whether they'll end up a
good person, or whether they'll turn to the dark side.
