How has technology affected you in a majorly positive way? What happened?

Technology is a highly controversial topic in the modern age. Is it destroying our interpersonal relationships or is it enhancing them? There is no clear answer – just benefits and detriments of this electronic generation that we are all an active part of. In this response, I will focus on the personal benefits that technology has brought me, although it is clear that there are inherent problems with the extreme digitalization of our lives.

Google It
With an extensive web of information sitting right in our pockets, obtaining information of any kind is incredibly easy. We do not have to painstakingly flip through the pages of a massive encyclopedia to obtain the info we need. This recent advancement undeniably makes all of our lives much easier.

“Have you ever heard ______?”
Any music fan knows that the Internet is one of the greatest things to ever happen to the music industry. Lesser-known musical talents now have a bigger chance than ever to get noticed and grow their fan-base. I have come across some of my favorite artists solely “Because the Internet” (a select few people will get that reference).

Communication

Ease of communication is another great benefit that almost everyone receives from technology. We can almost instantly contact people in our lives, whether it be our teachers, fellow students, or old friends. We have the ability to connect to people that we may be out of touch with otherwise. For instance, I can easily stay in touch with friends from camp via social networks.
