Come to the dark side, Luke
There is no question that there are a variety of good and evil acts that happen on a daily basis in the world we live in. With that being said, I do not believe people are naturally good or naturally evil. I do not think one is born a saint or born a monster. People are molded into who they are by the people they associate themselves with in the early stages of their life. For example, a person who has violent parents and hoodlum friends is more likely to become a murderer when they grow up, but does that mean that they are evil? The actions they later commit were influenced by evil, but that does not make them any worse than any other person, because everyone has done or thought evil at least once in their life, and so we are all equally as evil in theory. The alternative can be said for people who do good, because although they probably grew up with a good background, that does not make them perfect and they have definitely done wrong. There are good examples of opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to good and evil, or right and wrong, and although those two opposites will always exist, they will always exist together, not separately. With all the turmoil going on in the Middle East with ISIS, and their
beheading of American journalists, most people would agree that these
are acts of evil and that the people performing these acts are evil as
well. On the flip side, they think they are doing good, as they are
promoting their own religion and use that as justification for their
'good' acts. Overall, good vs. evil is based on perspective, and the world will always need both sides to be able to run properly. Governments implement laws to stop evil and evil tries to overthrow the good. It is just a balance that is necessary for our world to be what it is, and I do not see it changing.
