After reading extensively about North Korea on the Wikipedia page, I believe I have collected sufficient data to blog. Nowadays, we all enjoy freedom and liberty in this day and age, but that isn't true all of the time. North Korea may be doing a bad job of fooling people of their "socialist" government, but they make up for that by doing a good job of suppressing their own citizens. My picture is to represent this suppression and trickery that has angered numerous people all throughout the world. The image has symbolism laid throughout every aspect of it. The doughboy suit that Kim Jong Un is wearing clearly states his intent on deceiving his citizens. The finger represents the citizen's rights which are flowing into the stomach of the dough boy. Thus, he is in a sense, devouring the citizen's rights which is all a result of lies. He does this slyly and covertly by faking and redirecting information to this citizens. The citizens must truly look pass the exterior(dough boy costume) to see the true monster that lies behind the mask. This picture also has symbolism of suppression sewn between its pixels. Looking intently at the photo, a trained eye could discern the position of the finger and body. The index finger is directing focus to the dough boy, thus giving it all the power. The height of the finger and the height of the doughboy also suggests this was framed to put the north korean king in a more powerful position. Therefore, one can easily be transferred the feelings of suppressed north koreans and have overwhelming feelings of sadness and greif due to the clear symbolism contrasting. If we were unfortunate enough to be put in a position like the citizens of the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea", we would be feeling the uncontrollable sadness of living in that dump.
