technology: gift or omen?
As a society, we are dependent on technology; I say this in all seriousness. We CANNOT survive without it! Alright, I might be stretching it a little bit, but we are very reliant on it. Think about what one is able to achieve in a matter of minutes, that couldn't be done in days about 50 years ago. If you want to know about anything going on in the world, you can find the answer through a "GOOGLE" titled search bar in about 10 seconds. We can find out where things are and have the directions on how to get there read to us, also while we listen to our favorite music. Parents are able to find there kids with a quick phone call or text. Kids can get a hold of their guardians at any given time if need be. Students can write 10 page essays and submit it to their teachers, without using any real paper or leaving their desktop. What does this say about the human race? Has our intelligence allowed us to become lazy? Or have we been able to reach new feats because of our tendencies of always achieving more? Our world is basically in the palms of our hands 24/7. Technology is a drug that is constantly being upgraded to increase the high of intelligence that humans cannot get enough of. Does this desire to learn instantly come with a cost? Or will this epidemic turn out to be a blessing? Time will only tell.
