How would your life have been different if you'd grown up 20 years earlier? How would you interact with others? Do you think your relationships then would differ from your present relationships? Which time period would you prefer and why?

Obviously my life would be much different had I grown up 20 years earlier, and technology is the biggest reason for this. We spend a majority of our time around our devices, and for good reason. They make our lives easier. Anytime you get lost looking for an address, all you need to do is look at your phone’s map and within seconds have easy to follow, step-by-step directions. But 20 years ago we didn't have these things. Our technology today allows us to interact with people we otherwise would have never met, or talk to our friends and family more often than we ever could have in the past. While letters and even phone calls can be great ways to interact with someone, they are getting phased out because they aren't efficient. Had I lived 20 years ago and needed to tell someone something, I would have had to send a letter or carve out at least an hour for a phone call. Now all we need to do is spend (at most) 15 seconds typing a text, and the information is delivered. Anything, when abused, can be a bad thing, but the positives that come with our technology far outweigh the negatives. I’m glad I live when I do, because we have these wonderful devices suited to fit our needs. Amazing amounts of information lay at our fingertips, and it should be a sin to ignore it or take it for granted.
