iWrite

If I had grown up 20 years earlier than I did, my life would definitely be different, but not necessarily worse. Technology is an essential part to modern society, and it has come a long way since the last generation. In the late 70s to early 80s, the first cell phone had just been invented, but it obviously was nothing compared to the smart phones we possess today. Social media was also nonexistent. I use both those things quite often in my life, in fact it would be beneficial to cut back, but I more than likely won't. I have no problem interacting with people, but I sometimes talk to a person more through text in a week then seeing them, especially if they go to different schools. If I grew up in the previous era though, I would do a lot more talking on the phone than texting and such. Populations have risen since then, so my school would be smaller and so too would probably be the people I hangout with. I feel as if since media was not as big as an influence back then as it is now, there would be a lot less attention seekers and a lot less trouble. Nevertheless, current society is what it is and I still have plenty of great relationships with various people, something I do not think would be too awfully different in the past era, other than the cyber ability of communicating. If I could choose a time period, I would choose the previous one. I have lived a good bit of my adolescent life in this one, and it would be interesting to experience the other one.
