Technology has made my life incredibly easier. It allows for instant access of information, social media and other applications to keep me connected and entertained as well as provide me with an easier source of communication and handy tools. However, it has made me much lazier; no longer do I spend hours browsing books for information, or time writing down/recording information. Not to say that those are bad things, but I do feel as if I don't exercise my brain as much as a result.
Had I grown up 20 years ago, I would have been much more academically engaged (whether it is a result of being forced to find more resources in depth I cannot say). I would also say that my relations with people who are nearby would improve significantly because everyone would be looking and engaging with each other, instead of their phones. Relationships with people who are further away might be more infrequent due to the distance barrier, and the lack of instant communication via social media and other outlets.
I would live in the 90's or early 2000's. Technology although does hinder some aspects of our lives, it still is a wonder to be appreciated. In these time periods technology is present, but has yet to consume our lives. In that short time I believe there was a balance between technology and other daily activities.
