Asgn 14. Thanksgiving Blog: Harrison I

Every year we hold a Thanksgiving party for all of my mom's college graduates and undergraduates. Because she is a plant pathology professor, and often gets a lot of foreign exchange students that don't normally celebrate Thanksgiving, and have families that are too far away to be with over the break, we always throw a big party for them to show them what Thanksgiving is all about. This year we had over 16 people in total, with most of them being from brazil, but there were a couple with homes in places like Indonesia and the Middle East. We always make sure to have all the traditional foods, like mashed and sweet potatoes, turkey, ham, cranberry sauce, and pies of ever type and flavor. This year it required over two bags of potatoes, two 16 lb turkeys, 3 boats of gravy, and a mountain of other foods and beverages to feed out guests, and my sister even presented a PowerPoint to them, explaining what Thanksgiving was and why it was important. I'm just glad that they enjoyed themselves though, because I certainly did this year.
