After watching the Purge and its sequel, i can reasonably deduce that a day for criminal activities is the best solution to crime. By allowing a day a year for people to release all their pent up energy, numerous benefits can be attained. The main reason is of course the economy. Increases in manufacturing of security products and services would stimulate the economy. This would reduce the amount of homeless people because of the development of new jobs. This also removes a con of the purge. Most of those that die during the purge would be homeless, however the increase in jobs would get most off the streets. The rest can be helped by the increase in tax revenue for the government due to the raise in jobs. The surplus tax money can be used to build homeless shelters which would provide a safe haven for the homeless during the purge. Thus, the benefits outweigh whatever negatives there may be due to it benefiting an enormous amount of America.
