My Thanksgiving is indeed quite like the typical idea of the
holiday. The day starts off with my family and I doing a 5k at Keeneland, then
progresses to my aunt’s house on a golf course in the suburbia of Frankfort. We
eat a fantastic, calorie-laden meal, make awkward conversation (mainly about how terrible "those liberals" are), and stay the
appropriate amount of time before ditching. Typically I hang out with friends
afterward, but this year I took a nap and went black Friday shopping with
Weiran.
Overall I would say I do enjoy the holiday, mainly because I
get to eat all day, although my expectations are usually too high. The best
Thanksgiving I remember was spent in New Orleans last year. We ate with our
friends, went to the horse track, then us kids went out dancing all night.
Granted, I may be biased because I love the city so much, but everything about
that holiday seemed perfect.
