Assignment 13: Changes! - Charlie Grimes

One of the most prominent and pressing issues in our country is the legalization of gay marriage. It seems to me that many Americans have adopted a "progressive" attitude towards the matter, and support the legalization. It seems to me that people have lost sight of the sanctity of marriage. Never mind separation of church and state, this is a matter of common sense. By legalizing gay marriage across the country, we are opening the door to a dangerous and disgraceful slippery slope. Ask yourselves, if we can allow people of the same gender to marry, how can we stop a man from marrying a dog? Even worse, a dog of the same gender! How can we prevent marriages between people and cars? What kind of image does that display to the rest of the world? How would it make you feel knowing that you live in a country where you can run off on a honeymoon with your new Toyota Camry? America needs to wake up and realize the direction we are heading in.
