Assignment 13- Jacob Young

I'm Jewish. And I'm not ashamed or afraid of telling anyone that fact. Consequently, however, that comes with a lot of questions about the Middle East conflict and the Israeli-Palestinian situation. Coming from someone who has been to Israel and experienced what you all see on the news every day, it's much, much worse than you think. As they say, with desperate times come desperate measures. But the time for desperate measures has already been surpassed. We need a permanent solution, no fragile ceasefires or flaccid peace treaties. No, we need a much more effective solution; and the answer is right under our noses, it has been all along. If there is a problem, what is the end goal? To eradicate said problem, correct? So if the Middle East has become a problem, which I would venture to say that any learned person thinks so, then logically the best course of action is to get rid of the problem. What I propose is to nuke the entire area. Think about it. If there are no people there to fight, then there will be no more fighting. Peace will have been reached. What did we do with Japan in World War II? They were a problem, so we got rid of it; we nuked them. Everyone knows that the U.S. has enough nukes to destroy the world, so resources are not an issue. And the world is already suffering from overpopulation, so that would get rid of a large chunk of that problem as well. In addition, we get the majority of our oil from the Middle East, and that means we have to buy it. If there is no company or people to buy the oil from, then it will be free to take, and that helps on our massive debt. The ends justify the means. The benefits outweigh the risks.
