Assignment 12: Brave Little Toasters – Alex Cooper

One of my favorite inanimate objects is my softball bat. I would imagine that it is a very calm object because it gets rid of its anger every time it makes contact with a ball. I would also say that it hates the cold because if it were to ever get cold it and hit a ball while it was cold it would break and “die”. It likes to stay warm because that is when it has the most power and won’t break. When I pitch is thrown it gets excited anticipating the point of contact then once it makes contact with the ball it springs into action and pushed against the ball with as much force as it can muster. I would say the job of a softball bat it very difficult and tiring not only does it have to hit a ball but then once it does it gets thrown in the dirt, then picked up and thrown in the dugout. Sometimes it falls over, or gets knocked over, or hits something other than a ball like a pole or something hard and painful. The job of a softball bat is never done.
