I will be discussing Why Garfield loves lasagna so much. It is because he is a cat and cats love to snooze. Lasagna fills the gastrointestinal tract and cause an autonomic shift towards the parasympathetic System. This results in a general lack of motivation and drowsiness. Lasagna is also full of carbohydrates from the pasta. This high intake of carbs causes a high release of glucose into the blood stream and Increases the level of insulin produced. This insulin increase causes other chemicals to be taken into the blood except tryptophan which goes to the brain and is converted to melatonin and serotonin. These both cause drowsiness and help Garfield o sleep better because besides eating, that is his number one hobby.
