Assignment 5 - Cory Baker

Television is a great form of entertainment and self-indulgence.  People love to watch t.v. So much not because they have a burning passion for consumption of knowledge, rarely does t.v. Actually present unique and applicable knowledge without some sort of bias or heavy pandering. People mostly get caught up in people they can relate to or want to relate to. The Emmys are paid much more attention to because these are people that the audience more primally wants to relate to. Of course everyone will say they want to discover something knew that will help many, but that is hardly personal. Instead the Emmys present an opportunity to look at everyone you wish to be on a day to day basis, when you look in the mirror who do you want to be looking back. This is why I watch exclusively power rangers, because I myself am the black power ranger in my own squad of rangers called the Dino Jungle Patrol Unit based in Detroit, Michigan.
